Every day, you and every other person on our planet have 1440 minutes to make life great. Why 1440?
Because every day has 1440 minutes in it and every minute of every day is yours to do with as you see fit.
Not so you say? Hmm….read on.
Do you treat your minutes as a gift and face the day with an open heart and mind allowing life to happen within the day you’ve planned...or do you fret from the moment you wake up thinking that everything is going to turn out just like yesterday – crappy.
Guess what? You’re right! Whatever you think will happen – will. Well, if you think you’ll win the lottery, you won’t, but if you buy an occasional ticket, it’s possible. My point here is that you can create possibilities every day to improve your life just by changing the way you’re being.
This isn’t about positive thinking; it is about positive being. Think of everyone you know…who lifts you up and who brings you down? Of those people, who do you want to be? if you're like me, you might agree that the lifter-upper is generally much more appealing.
Simple changes in attitude are the first step in recognizing that you really do have all the time in the world. Begin by noticing the positive things around you; good behavior from your kids, the huge tail-wag your dog gives you when you get home from work; the person that smiles at you in the grocery line. Is it raining? Look for the rainbow; notice the plants standing a little taller! When you wake up, take a deep breath and decide that ‘today, I will be positive’. Then make a conscious effort to reframe your day as it happens.
Stuff will happen, it always will, and you get to choose who you’re going to be in that moment. Use all of your 1440 minutes to create the moments you want that will add up to the life you want.
Remember, it’s your life. Live It. Love It.
